New Councillor meets up with Mango Hill
Progress to celebrate 34th Anniversary
It was 15th July 2020 and stage 3 of Covid-19 restrictions was in place to
allow members of the Mango Hill Progress Association to resume its monthly
meeting in the newly painted (internally) Mango Hill Community Centre.
It was also the 34th anniversary of the foundation of the Progress Association
and newly elected Division 4 Councillor, Jodie Shipway attended to update
the community on a number of issues, close to the heart of local residents
which include.
• Anzac Ave > Lamington Rd connection – confirmed for construction by
Christmas, 2022. (Budget = $3.5m)
• Chelmsford Rd to Kinsellas Road West connection - confirmed for
construction in 2022. (Budget = $3.m)
• Alice Street upgrade is currently underway with a budget of $850k.
Members present were also honoured with the attendance of State Member,
Chris Whiting, Council’s Hall Manager Janelle Hall, Andrew Cathcart & Phil
Carson from SNLGC and local Community Police in S/C Jacqui Riddell.
The Progress Association congratulated Councillor Shipway on her election
and welcomed her continued attendance at Progress Association meetings,
usually held on the 3rd Wednesday of the month.
