Unit Development Entry onto Kinsellas Road West Questioned
The Progress Association has raised concerns on the
ever -increasing traffic congestion along Kinsellas Road
West as the acreage blocks along Kinsellas Road West
are developed to accommodate a further potential 600
housing units over the next 5 years.
Council approved road overlays of these acreage blocks
in 2010 clearly indicated that Mackenzie Street would
be the exit/entry point onto Kinsellas Road West as
indicated in the sketch across.
The Progress Association has made submissions to
Councillor Shipway and Council traffic Officers of our
immediate concern for the entry and exit for some
50 units that are currently being built on the former
“Jorgensen” land some 150m from the entry of Kinsellas
Road West from Diamond Jubilee Way.
Councillor Jodie Shipway will be attending our next
Progress Association meeting along with Officers of
Council to discuss this important topic along with an
update on the Management Plan for Halpine Lake.
Kinsellas Road West Roundabout Retail Centre to
include Indoor Pool and Local “Grocery Outlets”
A local retail centre being constructed by TPM Builders will open for
business around April/May 2021 and will include “Take Away” retail and a
local grocery options to complement an Indoor pool adjacent to the Lead
Childcare Centre on Kinsellas Road West.
Whilst the new centre may well offer opportunities for local shoppers,
the Progress Association has expressed concern to Moreton Bay Regional
Council Traffic Officers on potential traffic issues surrounding the entry/
exit point for the new shopping precinct.
The entry is situated opposite Lamington Road on what will be a very
Round-about when it is connected to Anzac Ave Chelmsford Road in the
2021-22 financial year. These concerns as well as others will be addressed
at the December meeting of Progress Association on 2nd December.
