35th Anniversary Of Mango Hill Progress Association

Despite Lockdowns and extensions of Covid-19 restrictions
during July causing the cancellation of the planned “Skate
night” and our 35th Anniversary Dinner Dance, the Mango Hill
Progress Association was able to celebrate its 35th Anniversary
at its monthly meeting on 21st July.

Former Councillor Yvonne Barlow and current Councillor
Jodie Shipway were on hand to congratulate the Association
on being recognised for its advocacy to Council to improve
facilities and infrastructure and for establishing a great sense
of community spirit. Councillor Shipway confirmed that long
awaited connection of Anzac Ave would commence next year
following the connection of Chelmsford Rd to Kinsellas Rd West
       in the coming months.

The Progress Association has recently received a $10,000 grant
from the Federal Government’s Powering Communities Fund
and with local funds, will now work with Moreton Bay Regional
Council to provide pathway lighting in Danzy Buchanan Park by
       the end of 2021.

“Whilst we have achieved a great deal since 1986 with a dedicated
team of Volunteers (both past and present), there remains much
to do”, stated Association President, Laurence Christie. “.We also
welcome new members and all who have a desire to contribute
towards their community to join us. Many hands and ideas will
enable the Progress Association to continue its respected and
valued role in the local Mango Hill and North Lakes areas.”
