Diary Notes
Since 1986, the Mango Hill Progress Association has sought Wednesday 16th November 2022
to work with local community organizations and act as a 7.30pm: Progress Association Meeting
constructive advocacy group to all levels of Government and (Mango Hill Community Centre Hall)
Business. In short, our Association can only be as effective as
the range of committed volunteers who provide time, effort

Halloween Skate Night - A Scary Affair - Last Saturday of October!
Anyone blundering into the vicinity of the Mango
Hill Community Centre on Saturday night may have
experienced some scary sights & sounds, as over 150
kids and parents enjoyed the most successful Skate
night of the year. Mango Hill kids just love their Skate
Nights, so the loss of two washed out events this
year was very disappointing for them. However, with
wonderful weather over the weekend and a range of
“scary prizes” to be won, the kids made up for lost time
to dressing up along with many mums and dads to
enjoy all the usual fun, skating, games, dance, frisby
throw and the sausage sizzle.
Thanks go to our wonderful Volunteers who make
the event possible. On court, Debbie and her team
entertained the kids with dance, skating, games and
the Halloween judging, whilst “off court”, Guy, Judy,
Gail, Helen and Ken & Farah sought to satisfy the
culinary needs of the hordes who devoured every
last snag and pancake, which included further urgent
resupplies from the recently opened Friendly Grocer
late on a Saturday night.
After 30 years, Skate Nights still resonate strongly in
the psyche of the Mango Hill community. So many
kids of yesteryear who now live elsewhere, turn up
with their children two decades later, and join in on
the festivities as they enjoyed so long ago.
