Bruce Highway Upgrade - Dohles Rocks Road to Anzac Avenue
• AFTERNOON PEAK TRAFFIC: Aim: To reduce the “lane
crossing” of vehicles heading north from the Gateway (M1)
meeting up with north bound vehicles from Gympie Rd
(Bald Hills) and seeking either to head up the M1 OR cross
over to exit the M1 onto Dohles Rocks Road.
Construction: New Collector-Distributor Roads will be
constructed beside the existing lanes south from Dohles Rocks
Rd over the Pine River to the Gateway merge of the Bruce
Highway with the desired outcome being to reduce current
traffic blockages and Accidents and increase traffic flow.
(A similar construction is that section of the Gateway (M1) with

balancing the need to plan for and construct road corridors with
the impact on land-owners and residents. There is no doubt that
task is very difficult and likely to upset many.
As outlined in the November issue of the Mango Hill News,
TMR organized a number of Community Information sessions.
Representatives of the Mango Hill Progress Association
attended the North Lakes session on 22nd November in order
to view in detail the proposed upgrades and obtain a greater
understanding of the impacts, construction timelines and
effects on the wider and local communities.
Phase 2 of Project - Dohles Rocks Rd to Anzac Ave is under
design phase only and is as yet unfunded. Advice from Project
engineers is that construction prior to 2030 is unlikely.
