Budget-2022-23
On 17th June, Mayor Peter Flannery announced that Moreton
Bay Regional Council’s $816 million Budget for 2022-2023 will
deliver a record $259 million capital works program along
with a 4.8% minimum general rate rise for owner occupied
houses, the equivalent of $0.98 per week. There will be an
overall rate increase for owner-occupied homes of 5.6% or
$1.71 per week.
DIVISION 4 BUDGET HIGHLIGHTS - Includes Capital Road Projects
Councillor Shipway has advised that Moreton Bay Regional Council will continue the work it started last year to fix the notoriously
bad intersections at Bunnings/Costco in North Lakes, the reconstruction of Henry Road and Dohles Rocks Road in Griffin (with some
Federal Govt funding), as well as commencing the extension of Lamington Road to Anzac Avenue at Mango Hill.
“This means the long-awaited Mango Hill Ring Road will become a reality, with $2.5 million to provide a second entrance to Mango
Hill Village, assisting traffic flow in the area. As well, the morning school run will be made much easier around the Diamond Jubilee
Way, Memorial Drive and Kinsellas Road West intersection, where Council has plans to increase the turning lane capacity to reduce
delays and improve safety, with help from the Australian Government”. I want to thank locals for coming and talking to me about
these kinds of congestion issues that impact your day-to-day lives as it is thanks to your valuable input that these projects are
coming to fruition,” stated Councillor Shipway.
