Bancroft Electorate Volunteers recognised on Queensland Day 2023
Community Volunteers Acknowledged
On Queensland Day (6th June), the Lake Eden Hotel was the venue for an amazing group of volunteers from across the Bancroft
Electorate (Deception Bay, Burpengary, Mango Hill & North Lakes) to be recognised for their efforts and commitment to their
organisations and society in general.
State Member Chris Whiting spoke of the wonderful contribution that “grass roots” volunteers give to society and in return seek
nothing more than knowing they are making a positive difference to the lives of so many in their community.
The Mango Hill Progress Association has had many wonderful volunteers, both past & present. On this occasion, it was our privilege
to nominate and support our Vice President, Helen Wright who joined the terrific group of volunteers from around the electorate,
as seen below.
Helen Wright: Since arriving in the
Mango Hill Village in 2014 from Country
NSW, Helen with husband Les, have
given countless hours of commitment
to the Mango Hill Progress Association
by way of delivering the Mango Hill
News and volunteering at regular
Association activities such as “Skate
Nights and Christmas Festivals”.
As a Management Committee member
for 5 years and now a Vice President,
Helen contributes much to the policy
development of the Association with
ideas, attendance at local forums and
has proved to be a highly valued team
member, always prepared to help
others and do so with a smile.
