In 1970 Danzy began farming the land (now known as Park Vista Estate
in the Mango Hill Village) with sweet potatoes. In 1974 Danzy suffered
from heart issues and underwent major heart surgery, placing increasing
demands and challenges for Lil on the farm, including caring for a
growing family, and caring for Danzy.

Still, Danzy and Lil had a new home built on the current site in Kinsellas
Rd West in 1985. Sadly, with Danzy’s untimely passing in 1986, Lil only got
to share her new home with Danzy for a short time, but continued to live
in her home until 2019, when she moved to Seabrae Manor in Buchanan
Rd, Rothwell, which was once the site of another Buchanan owned farm.

On the evening of Easter Friday 2023, Lil was joking and chatting with staff
at Seabrae and gracefully passed away overnight without experiencing
pain and sickness. RIP LILLIAN ETHAL BUCHANAN.

A celebration of the life of Lil Buchanan was held at the Deception Bay Baptist
Church, on Thursday 27th of April, where she had attended for almost 60 years.
