Golf Course Deadline for Submissions Looms for 2nd June.
It was standing room only in the Mango Hill Hall on 19th April for the
monthly Mango Hill Progress Association meeting. Over 90 residents,
the majority of whom live in North Lakes gathered to hear the latest
news on the future of their once magnificent Golf Course which
connected the open space environment from the north to the south
of the North Lakes community. Concerned residents heard from a
SNLGC spokesperson that the official objection period in respect of
Development Application N0. DA/2022/3732 is from 19th April to and
including 2nd June 2023 as outlined in this article.
As per the advertised “Public Notice of Development Application”
any person may on or before 2nd June 2023, make a signed written
submission to Moreton Bay Regional Council”.
The meeting was advised that the SNLGC Committee encourages
residents from within North Lakes and or other local communities,
who consider that the proposed development is not in the community
interest or their own interest, to make a formal submission on or by 2nd
June.
The Question was asked during the meeting. “Why are we forced to
go through this when our DCP says a Retirement Village is prohibited?”
The Answer: Moreton Bay Regional Council must adhere to the
processes of the Planning Act, but every resident has the opportunity
to counter the proposal by making a written signed submission by 2nd
June.
