Village Population Set to Surge
For most of the 1990’s into the early 2000s, the Mango Hill Progress
Association delivered up to 300 Newsletters per month to Mango Hill Village
homes as residents moved into our community to enjoy what was for many
the opportunity to enjoy a semi-rural lifestyle. During this time, the Village
with its single entry along Kinsellas Rd West onto Anzac Ave was seen as a
“hideaway” and traffic flow was manageable.
However, with the rapid expansion of population to Qld over the past 20 years,
not only did the surrounding areas of North Lakes and Mango Hill East develop
rapidly, but the Mango Hill Village community within has “exploded”. From 2010,
Park Vista and the former acreage blocks have been developed and many of the
prized 800sqm blocks have been sub-divided. As a result, almost 1100 households
now call the Mango Hill Village home.
With 380 dwellings planned for these 3 sub-divisions, the timeline for their
construction is now within 2-3 years rendering the imminent connection of
Lamington Road to Anzac Ave as both urgent and vital.
Preparation on the Heran site, with its entry onto Kinsellas Rd West is well
underway whilst the Usher family have now cleared their land in readiness for
site preparation due to start in late 2023.
The good news is that work will begin on Lamington Road this month (September)
with a timeline for completion in mid to late 2024. (See separate article this issue).
