Wywurri Creek “Reserve” - North Lakes
Wywurri Creek runs through the centre of North Lakes &
Mango Hill from the Bruce Highway close to the Plantation
Rd crossover bridge and onwards towards Hayes inlet, with
Lake Eden in the middle of that route.
On the initiative of local resident, Ken Butler, the Progress
Association has written to our very approachable Councillor,
Jodie Shipway to seek clarification as to the future of this last
remaining area of “greenspace” in North Lakes, outside of the
now dormant former North Lakes Golf Course.
Councillor Shipway has responded indicating that:

International Women’s Day Mango Hill Awards
Congratulations go to two Mango Hill women who were
recognised at an International Women’s Day function held on
6th March at the Redcliffe Zonta Club (in conjunction with
the Mango Hill Market Place) for service to the Community.
Helen Wright (Mango Hill Progress Association Vice
President) was recognized under the “Community Legend”
category for her ongoing volunteer efforts with the Progress
Association and in the community at large over the past 8
years since arriving in the Mango Hill Village.
Cassie Garth was recognized under the “Next Generation”
category as a young teenager who has been recognised
for her achievements, contributions and efforts which are
paving the way for a brighter future. Cassie has been a keen
volunteer as a young person since her earliest years and
continues to assist her peers and with helping out at Mango
Hill Progress Association activities.
The local community is grateful for the contribution of
women of the dedication and calibre of Helen Wright and
Cassie Garth in our community.
