‘Busy Bees’ Playgroup Continues to Flourish
Since the Mango Hill Community Centre Hall was first opened back in 1987,
Wednesday mornings have been prioritised to the children of the community with
a play group being in operation continually over the past 37 years.
Currently running under the auspices of Play Matters Qld, the Mango Hill Play Group
(Busy Bees for locals), is benefiting children, families and the wider community.
At Busy Bees, we aim to provide an opportunity where parents and children play
together, which is important for healthy development of children and to maintain
socialising for parents. By creating a safe space where parents and caregivers can
spend time with their children, Busy Bees enhances relationships through play
and reinforces a sense of belonging for parents in our community.
Join us at Busy Bees Playgroup Wednesday morning 9:30am - 11am. Just pop in
and get to know other parents in your local community. Contact Amanda Martin

Amanda Martin - Your Busy Bees Playgroup Facilitator
Being a mother is at the heart of who I am. I’m also a certified Yoga & Pilates teacher,
trained nurse and postpartum support worker.
I am deeply motivated by being of service to others and to the wider community
and I have a particular passion for helping families with navigating the early stages
of parenthood.
Playgroup offers a chance for parents and little people to connect, to build
social skills and create a sense of belonging – I am truly proud to be a part of
the Play Matters Community at the Mango Hill Community Centre, along with my
wonderful colleague Jasmine.
