Coffee & Chat Group
Brings Folk Together
It was a “crowded footpath” up at North Lakes Westfields
on 28th August as 13 “locals” dropped in at the Coffee
Club for a “Cuppa & Chat”.
For some, it was the desire to meet others in the
community and discuss local issues, for others, it was
an opportunity to catch up with people they had never
met and share ideas.
Next Coffee & Chat is scheduled for 9.00am on 25th
September (North Lakes Coffee Club).
An offer is extended to readers of the Mango Hill News
to join us on 4th Wednesday of the month, ongoing.
Come along and bring a Friend. Everyone is Welcome! -

member of both the SNLGC (Save North Lakes Golf Course) and the Mango Hill Progress Association.)
‘Coffee with a Cop’ at Westfield North Lakes
Community Policing has long been a high priority with the Mango Hill Progress
Association, where we have had the privilege of having some wonderful officers
network with our community since the far-off days when North Lakes Police Beat
began operations back in 2004.
In 2024, Community Policing is also close to the heart of SSGT Wayne Carey of
Mango Hill/North Lakes Police Station, in his role as Officer-in-charge. Wayne has
attended several meetings of the Mango Hill Progress Association where he has
provided insight to the many challenges and indeed, some enjoyable experiences
of policing in the local area. Wayne is keen to network with local community
groups and members of the public to enhance the relationship his officers have
with the general public.
On 22nd August, members of the public would have viewed numerous Police
Officers meeting up with shoppers and members of the Progress Association and
State Member for Bancroft, Chris Whiting at Westfield North Lakes, where Centre
Management supported “Coffee with A Cop” with a hot beverage.
Fences Go Up on Usher Development Site
Questions are being asked, given the recent
clearing of the Usher Development site on the
corner of Kinsellas Rd West and Lamington
Road in the Mango Hill Village.
Information provided by the Usher
Corporation advises that the fencing has
been installed to prevent further illegal
dumping, now that the site has been cleared
in preparation for development works that
will commence early in 2025, with unit
complex construction commencing later in
2025. This new community will have some
250 units, parking for 732 vehicles and two
entry/exit points on Lamington Road, with
no access to Kinsellas Rd West.
