Former President Ray Behan Visits Village after 30 years
It was a delight to welcome Ray Behan as a special Guest to
the Mango Hill Progress Association’s August meeting. Ray
was our 2nd President and founding member/Treasurer back
in 1986-1988. For Ray, it was a trip down “Memory Lane”, given
this was his first visit back to Mango Hill Village in 30 years.
Prior to the arrival of our community hall in late 1987, the
fledgling Progress Association meetings were held in Ray’s
home on the corner of John & May Streets.
In a follow up visit later that week, Ray took time to look over
Danzy Buchanan Park in daylight hours and see the massive
changes of the past 30 years. After reviewing some old Mango
Hill Newsletters, Ray has sent the following “Letter to the Editor.

(I still have a copy), part of which is recorded below.
To see Danzy Buchanan Park now, with its community hall,
tennis & basketball courts, playground and the height of those
trees was for me, almost overwhelming.
Your community “did roll up its sleeves and did get the job done”.
Your team is to be congratulated.
